    After a short rest, we jumped in Bobby and headed up the coast to Warnemünde. I secured a photo of the drive on the way that will probably cost a few quid...We arrived at the end of a week long Sailing Regatta and the promenade was full of stands selling tourist nik- nacks, fast food and drinks. It was a pleasant walk, and place to visit again out of season.Læs mere

    Marzipan hunt!

    I dag, Tyskland ⋅ 🌧 18 °C

    After breakfast at the Hotel, Pilar and I headed back into the Altstadt in search of Marzipan. We went to the famous Niedregger Café, but we must have had our invisible suits on as the waitresses gave us a stiff ignoring. On the third time of asking, I shouted a few explietives in the general direction of the staff and we moved to the 2nd most famous Marzipan cake supplier. Exceptional Service at the Weiner Café, they even layed out the red carpet for us! Following a Marzipan induced sugar-rush we got some steps in to burn off excess energy taking in the beautiful historical buildings of Lübeck and a pop-up commual flower garden. Finishing our activities around lunchtime alongside the harbour, we were forced to take shelter from the rain at the Fangfrisch Fish & Chip stand. Drooling like Bella at feedimg time, we ended up ordering a portion and they were as good as anything in Blighty (if not better). When the rain eased, we headed back, stopping for some more Marzipan, (when in Rome....) followed by a short Mittagschlaf in the Hotel.Læs mere

    Sunny Lübeck☀️☀️☀️

    I går, Tyskland ⋅ ⛅ 25 °C

    A long drive through beautiful countryside brought us finally into Hansa Stadt Lübeck. The hotel situated next to the train station, a stones throw from the iconic Holsentür was perfect. We ventured out in the evening to a vibrant city and had something to eat at a restaurant named Kartoffelnspeicher. Ideally placed next to the river, or moat that circles the town, we sat outside and were entertained by live rock music coming from the park. It was a plesant evening, so we walked around the town and had a drink at the town's oldest bar, the Seafarers Tavern and finished the night in an Irish bar, Flannigan's. I had to drink the obigatory black velvet and we were fortunate to catch a live band, Handschöne perform. The perfect finish to a great first day.Læs mere

    Burgwedel for breakfast

    I går, Tyskland ⋅ ⛅ 24 °C

    After sorting out Bella and saying farewell to Oskar Boy for the fifthtenth time, engine started just before 11am and we were off. We did a bit of closed canopy motorway driving until just past Hannover, then hit traffic, so took the next exit. We stopped at the next roadside Ratsplatz, alongside a Wohnmobile with a lady with bright red lipstick sat in in the front. I quickly realised, we probably didn't want what she was selling, so moved onto the next Ratsplatz for late breakfast, early lunch. Suitably fed and watered, and with the roof down, we headed off through the tree lined roads towards our destination.Læs mere
