• Blue Sock Hostel

Would recommend as excellent reasonably priced place to stay. Staff friendly, helpful and with excellent English . Clean good facilities excellent breakfast but with what must be some of the worst coffee in Portugal Breakfast is served 730am to 1030am . Good communal areas no kitchen though fridge and microwave.

In the heart of the Ribeira a little noisy at times and constant piped music Of course lot depends on fellow guests some poor sods in my mixed dorm had to cope with my sleeping pattern.

Comfortable bunks with curtains, power point and shelf in bunk space. Large under bed locker would recommend long padlock with key difficult to see code . Air Conditioned Dorm of course check it is turned on !!!

Cheap beer in Hostel bar (Large beer 2.8€) was quiet during my stay (apart from bloody music) Snacks available when bar open 7pm-11pm .Large variety of restsaurants close by a bit expensive on waterfront 50 metres down street.

Would highly recommend nearby Wine Box Restaurant has good set deal in afternoon early evening. 3 Tapas and glass of wine 10€ or 7 tapas and 2 wine 15€.

Would stay again! On my travels this morning after breakfast
