Vino Valdhuber

Tonight’s stop: Vino Valdhuber, tucked away among the vineyards north of Maribor.

Peaceful, beautiful, and exactly the kind of place you hope to find while road tripping through wine country.

Their restaurant is usually only open Friday through Sunday, but after I emailed asking whether dinner and a wine tasting might still be possible on a Wednesday, the answer came back: “Of course!”

What I expected: maybe a charcuterie board and a few wine samples.
What we actually got: a full tasting menu paired with multiple glasses of their own wines.

Add sunset over the vineyards, a castle visible in the distance, and a completely private dinner setting just for Sanjay and me — and it turned into one of the most magical evenings of the trip so far.Læs mere
