    Finally.

    It was time for Borough Market.

    From the moment I stepped inside, I understood why so many people had recommended it.

    Everywhere I looked there were food stalls overflowing with incredible produce. Fresh cheeses. Seafood. Charcuterie. Pastries. Spices. International street food. And, of course, the famous strawberries that seemed to perfume the entire market.

    The only problem?

    There was simply too much choice.

    I wandered through the market several times before finally settling on one of its classics—a sausage roll from The Ginger Pig.

    Worth every bite.

    It was flaky, savoury and incredibly satisfying.

    Perhaps a little too satisfying.

    After finishing it, I realised I probably wasn’t going to sample much else.

    That’s when it struck me that Borough Market is probably best experienced with friends. Everyone orders something different, and then you simply share everything. Visiting alone, there’s only so much one person can eat.

    Thankfully, there was still room for one more thing.

    Coffee.

    One of the cafés on my research list, Colombia Coffee Company, has a small stand inside the market, so naturally I stopped for an espresso.

    Excellent coffee.

    And yes…

    One final bag of beans came home with me.

    The hunt was officially over.

    London had successfully filled my backpack—and very nearly my suitcase—with coffee.
