London’s Other Skyline

From Borough Market, I hopped on the Underground and headed east to Canary Wharf.

To be honest, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect.

What I found couldn’t have been more different from the London I’d been exploring all week.

Instead of centuries-old buildings, narrow streets and historic landmarks, Canary Wharf is all glass, steel and skyscrapers. Modern office towers stand beside residential buildings, while canals, marinas and beautifully landscaped green spaces soften the entire district.

It almost felt like a completely different city.

One building even made me laugh.

Canada Place.

Apparently London has one too.

I couldn’t resist taking a photo for my friends back in Vancouver.

One of my favourite discoveries was the Crossrail Place Roof Garden.

Hidden above the station, it’s a lush tropical garden filled with plants from around the world. Walking through it instantly reminded me of Singapore, where futuristic architecture and greenery blend together so effortlessly.

Canary Wharf may not have London’s famous history, but it offers something equally interesting—a glimpse into the city’s future.

And I have to admit…
