Trieste, Italy

The ship docked here and our voyage concluded. We were designated a new pier since the G7 leaders were in Trieste for a summit, and our regular pier became off limits for security reasons. We headed to the Venice airport for our flight back home. The bus ride was two hours, but Oceania stayed with us right to the end of our check-in. It was a nine-hour flight from Venice to Chicago, after a half-hour delay. The flight to Phoenix, however, was delayed four times with four different gates, and we didn’t arrive until 1 a.m., three hours late. In any case, many happy memories.Læs mere
