    Day 2 in Riga, Latvia

    October 24, 2018 in Latvia ⋅ 🌬 6 °C

It still rained all day today. I started my day with a trip to Riga central market. I bought some fresh cranberry juice, lingonberry juice, ryebread, and lots of bee products. Then I went back to the hostel for a little break. It was too cold and my hands were numb, plus I needed to drop off the things that I bought.

The German siblings were at the hostel and they offered me coffee. So we sat down for an hour and had some conversations about travelling. We also talked the differences between Germany and England.

After finishing the coffee break I headed back out to explore. I bought some more amber (a necklace and ring), then had a late lunch. This time I had cabbage soup and a local beer. I like how cosy all of the restaurants in Riga seem to be. You really do feel like you are in your Grandmothers living room. The fact that the locals are warm makes it even more cosy.

I wandered around for a while and then had to go back to the hostel for my suitcase. My journey to the airport was pleasant. I will definitely remember Riga...because the driver blew me a kiss when I stepped off the bus at the airport. Haha!
