• Monaco, Pisa, Cinque Terre

    1 Juni 2024, Monako ⋅ ☀️ 21 °C

Monaco...totally overrated. I could have a billion dollars and still wouldn't want to live there. The location and backdrop are gorgeous. But it's super condensed and really isn't that nice. Still, it was interesting to see it, including the Monte Carlo Casino. Car lovers (not me) would love the cars and the formula one track.

The palace is on par with Kryal castle in Ballarat. 🤣

I've also tacked Pisa and Cinque Terre (both Italy) to this post. I enjoyed brief visits to both, having been to both before.

The Leaning Tower of Pisa and other buildings in Pisa's Cathedral Square are nice to visit. I find it amusing watching everyone (mainly women) trying to get the perfect photo. It's serious business!

The tower leans 4 degrees because of an unstable foundation. It was completed 652 years ago, which seems a long time ago but isn’t compared to other buildings.

We also did a quick stop at Cinque Terre. It's such a lovely place but full of tourists. Bloody tourists! 😁 We only went to one town and had a nice lunch looking over the Mediterranean. It's a hard life.

I was disappointed that the Via dell'Amore (Path of Love) was still closed. It was closed last time I visited in 2016 due to a landslide. It's meant to open next month. The Italians don't like to rush. 🤣

I did visit Rome and Florence and had a couple of mishaps. 🙄 As I'm going to both locations again soon, I'll write about these later.

I'm currently on route to Montserrat from Barcelona. I see a few sangrias in my future.
