Montserrat (Spain)

Montserrat is a mountain area that has a monastary that houses an ancient wooden statue of the Virgin and Child. It's a gorgeous place an hour from Barcelona. I'm not religious, so it was the spectacular mountain views that took my attention. There are lots of hikes around which you could spend days walking.
