Birthday bliss in Bali

Michelle's birthday today! We went for a lovely breakfast at Umbi so Michelle could get her smoothie bowl. We then headed off for a 'treacherous' walk into Ubud shopping area. Wasn't as bad as we thought it would be and it was a good chance to check out the different funky restaurants as well. We visited our villa owners' store Wayans Handicrafts and of course couldn't resist getting another piece of jewellery (Michelle & I). After changing some money we grabbed a yummy gelato then headed back to our villa in time for a quick swim and to meet our Spa ladies. Michelle & I were spoilt with massages, body scrub & facials. So relaxing! Then it was time for dinner. We decided on La Luz, a funky Mexican restaurant just up from our villa. Beautiful food followed by some wonderful live music with a keyboard, cello & violin. We had fun trying to guess some of the songs, most were quite modern. We had requested Happy Birthday for Michelle and it was a lovely surprise when one of the owners also brought out a dessert for her. Great evening !Weiterlesen
