Travel to New York and First impression

Flew with Aer Lingus and although it’s a long flight. Staff couldn’t be more helpful. Never done a long flight but it didn’t seem to bad with the inflight system to keep me amused. So managed to watch 2 films.
Aer Lingus obviously is run by the Irish (Celtic hospitality) because they keep you fed and comfortable. Pillow and blankets if needed. Plus snack, then a rather tasty meal, tea, coffee, water and another light meal.
After flight it was a very long wait at passport control. Bloody hell-photographed and finger printed. We are not criminals it’s just standard.
But after that it was quick to get the Airtrain then a quick transfer to Long Island Train line and 2nd stop at Penn Station. We walked out of the station to find our hotel The New Yorker right in front of us. After dropping off our bags-we had a wander around to get our bearings.
