• Hiking in Inks Lake State Park

We woke up to a beautiful, sunny day.

Unfortunately, Wolf and Jim both had leg issues and decided to skip the morning hike, so we said our goodbyes to them. Inks Lake State Park was just a 20-minute drive from our hotel.

The trail we chose was stunning, winding up and down over rocky terrain with brush, plenty of cacti sporting red fruit, and occasional glimpses of the blue waters of Inks Lake. After about 2.5 miles, we realized we were moving slower than expected and wouldn’t finish the loop in time for our planned 1:00 PM lunch. So, we took a shortcut along a path under the power lines down to Inks Lake and then made our way back to our parked cars via the paved State Park road.

Lunch was just a few miles away at Reverend Jim’s Dam Pub, a popular spot for Harley riders. From our table, we had a great view of the Colorado River below and Buchanan Lake Dam in the distance.

All in all, it was another fantastic outing with my geezer group.
