We arrived in Cape Burney just outside Geraldton after passing the Pink Lake...

The van park at Cape Burney is right next to the beach and we are loving the afternoon dog walks and swims!

We loved seeing Kash, Brendan and the kids again for a couple of days and Tom has been cooking the most incredible breakfasts for us!Read more

Jurien Bay - Sea Lion Tour

We did the 2hr drive to Jurien Bay to meet up with Kashana, Brendan, Summer and Rory on the Sea Lion Boat Tour! (Let's not mention the stressful 1hr 15min detour at the very last minute due to an accident that closed the coast road we were on🤦‍♀️).

What a fabulous morning we all had going out on the boat and swimming with the Sea Lions. Tom got to use a Go-Pro for the first time and made a little video afterwards which was super cool!!!

We loved spending time with the Sodemans again and had a lovely picnic at the park for the afternoon!

Xmas Fun!

The kids were excited to get their advent calendars from Granny and Granddad stuck up ready for tomorrow!!!

And spent the day making Xmas decorations and building a gingerbread house!

Geraldton Foreshore & Sydney II Memorial

We drove along the foreshore to see the 'Big Marble'! The kids loved hiding behind and seeing the photos of themselves upside down!

Then we went to the HMAS Sydney II Memorial that honours the 634 men drowned when it was sunk in WWII by a German ship West of Shark Bay.

The dome was created by 634 steel sea gulls to honour the men that died, and in response to a flock of gulls that flew over the memorial site as it was opened.Read more

Geraldton Museum

A lovely afternoon at the Geraldton Museum where we learnt about the ship wreck of the Baldavia and the mutiny that occurred as well as some of the history of the area!

They had a visiting dinosaur exhibition with a room full of animatronic dinosaurs that the kids loved and then a room with activities!

Bella enjoyed dressing up, whilst Lottie did the giant floor puzzle. And they each created their own dinosaurs that got scanned into the computer and projected onto the screen! Very clever! 🦕💗🦖Read more

Greenough Museum and Gardens

An old house settled in and amongst beautiful gardens. It was an unexpected little gem made all the better by the curators that really treated it like a home.

The kids were welcome to play the piano and play dress ups and we wandered down the garden to see the bending tree.

The house had such a lovely welcome feel to it and you can imagine the Mayley family with their 14 children living here and entertaining as the 'King of the Flats' as John Maley was known back in the day!

We all enjoyed playing the piano and our couple of hours spent at the museum were a pleasant surprise to say the least.

We came away with homemade soap, a beanie for Tom, some new succulents and a plant pot and happy memories of playing the piano in the front room!Read more

Greenough Wildlife Park

A quick stop at the wildlife park on our way South towards Perth.

Not a huge amount to see but always good to try and support the local businesses.

Kids enjoyed feeding the animals and the girls had a play in the park before we head off to Jurien Bay overnight 💓Read more

Baldivis Farm Stay

We arrived at the farm stay in Baldivis ready to set up for Christmas and met a lovely family (Mel, Matt and their 3 girls Zara, Sienna and Juliette).

Finally Tom had 2 older girls to play games with on his wavelength and of course he flies off the Melbourne to have Xmas in Marlo tomorrow!

He and Chris had time for paint balling before he left as an early Christmas present and of course had a great time but came home covered in bruises!!! 😆

The girls are loving all the animals on the farm here (dogs, a lamb, horses) not to mention the owners kids that are also homeschooled and around a lot!

They all opened a Christmas present before Tom left to play some board games which was a fun afternoon 💕Read more

Fremantle Maritime Museum

An afternoon at the Fremantle Maritime Museum with another clever AI screen that took the kids boat designs and transferred them to the screen!

We also saw the Australia II exhibit that won the Americas Cup in 1983 which was really interesting and the girls had a little play with the lego.

Then we watched a great little documentary in the Dome cinema all about the whales migration routes and the 'Whale Super Highway' up and down the west coast which the girls loved 😍 🐋 🐳Read more

Shipwrecks Museum Fremantle

A slight detour today to the Shipwrecks Museum in Fremantle....

We were meant to be heading into the city to the Perth Mint and on to the Regal Theatre in Subiaco to the Panto, but we blew a tyre in the car on the way and had to find somewhere to get it replaced.

So whilst we waited for the new tyre we stopped in at the museum which was even better than the maritime museum we visited a couple of days ago.

There was a treasure hunt for the girls to do and they even had a recovered section of the Batavia on display that we learnt about at the Geraldton Museum.

The girls were all dressed up in their beautiful dresses... Bella was particularly taken with her new unicorn horn headband that didn't leave her head most of the day!Read more

Perth Panto - Subiaco

A great afternoon in the City. Out for dinner at the Subiaco Hotel and then across the road to the Regal Theatre for the Panto "Sleeping Beauty".

Mandurah Giants

We spent the afternoon visiting a couple of the Mandurah Giants and then a picnic on the foreshore where we had a little trip on the train before we headed to see the Xmas lights on the boat!

Mandurah Canals Xmas Lights

Wow wow wow!

What an experience.... we've never seen anything like it!

We hired a boat to go and see the Christmas lights by water in the Mandurah canals. What an incredible show! And as soon as we hopped in we had a friendly dolphin swim right up to the boat 🐬

It was the most amazing lights we've ever seen and the waterways were like the high way.... absolutely chocked full of boats and people out to see the spectacular displays. It reminded me of somewhere in Asia!

This really helped us get in the festive spirit!

Afterwards we spent some time at the foreshore Christmas lights display too 🌟💖🥳🤩Read more

Perth Mint

We did the tour of the Perth Mint which was really good. The girls had a quiz to do and we got to see a Gold pour of A GOLD STAR!!!

Really fascinating and great fun to try and lift the gold bar in the vault, and seeing the 1 tonne Gold coin 🪙

The girls had fun dressing up at the end too!Read more

Kings Park & City Xmas Lights

After the Perth Mint we took a picnic to Kings Park for a play whilst we waited for it to get dark.

Then we headed back into the city to the Carol Concert with the other 20,000 people and the girls and I enjoyed a short stay whilst Chris tried to find a car park 🤦‍♀️ (nightmare!)

Eventually we headed to the Rio Xmas Lights trail in the city centre to meet Chris and had a walk around which was fun! Bella loved it but Lottie was a bit tired she didn't enjoy the walking!!!!Read more

Bouvard

We drove down to meet Ken and Jen and see the new house at Bouvard. It was a bit of a test run to see if all the dogs would get along 😀

An absolutely stunning place and great to see Isabelle and Tiana again and meet their boyfriends (Matt and Austin).

Christmas Eve Dinner

What an incredible evening at the Esplanade Hotel in Fremantle!

Chris booked us a buffet dinner, complete with a visit from Santa and all the food and drinks we could ask for....

We had the most awesome wait staff (Martin from Uraguay, and Clemont from France) and got to practice our French and Spanish!!!

Christmas Day

A beautiful Christmas Day spent at the van. We started with the girls opening their stockings, building Lego and playing with some of their new toys whilst we also gave Tom a call in Marlo.

Then we rang Nana who was a little worse for wear!!! The girls opened some of their presents and built even more lego!!!

Chris and I spent the day cooking and playing with the girls which was a welcome break from driving all over the place!

We all enjoyed a game of darts followed by a Christmas movie and then Skype with the UK continent and Tom in Marlo for a second time.

Then Christmas dinner and a chat with Bill and Sally before more Christmas movies and then off to bed!Read more

Bouvard Boxing Day

A great day at Bouvard with Jen, Ken, Tiana & Austin, Isobelle & Matt, Russ & Chalisa plus his 2 kids Danny and Niamh!

We enjoyed a beautiful BBQ lunch and an afternoon at the foreshore with the paddle boards and jet ski which Chris and Lottie took for a spin!

Lottie and Bella couldn't wait to try out Jen's spa bath tub and Isobelle has been such an amazing big sister looking after them.

Finished off the day with some dancing which was pretty funny!!! 😂

We ended up leaving Lottie for a sleepover which she absolutely loved and was the centre of attention with all the big girls 😍Read more

Bouvard Fun

We went back to pick up Lottie from her sleepover and stayed down at the house for a couple of nights leaving TRICCE back at the farm stay in the paddock!

It was a much needed break from driving backwards and forwards as well as a mini holiday from the van and the kids because they were entertained by other people!

The girls were totally spoilt with a mini spa treatment, going their nails and make-up.... more late nights dancing away and Bella was particularly excited that she got to sleep with Sasha in her bed! 💓 🐶

We got to have beautiful hot showers and the most amazing food. Russ cooked up a yummy Thai curry one night and the girls did a Mexican dinner the following day!!!!

What an awesome mini break! So grateful for the opportunity to visit and stay with everyone 💕Read more

We took the girls to the Aqua Park this afternoon! It was great fun and an awesome way to cool off in the heat.

Much bigger than the Lakes Entrance one we did last year and both the girls did nearly every slide and jump, including Lottie on the 5m leap.

A beautiful relaxing day at the foreshore just near Jen and Kens house. We pulled up in the car park last night so we could sleep in the bus and decided to try another night before the Rangers asked us to move on!

We had a little dog walk with Jen and Ken this morning and then spent a few hours sitting by the water whilst the girls played with their new buckets and spades.... the water is so shallow and was like a bath!

Afternoon craft in the van and a little siesta before an early night for everyone!Read more
