• A Rhapsody in Bohemia, Cesky Krumlov

    I was planning to ride from Prague to Vienna and decided to explore part of Bohemia - would seem a shame to pass though it without doing so. So I stopped here at Cesky Krumlov which is a truly amazing experience. It is like stepping into a movie set in an undefined past. Ancient buildings, cobbled streets and maze-like narrow streets with a tower overlooking it all and even a bear pit (the two bears seemed very happy from what I would tell). I spent a couple of hours wandering around but would happily stay here for a relaxing holiday looking in the shops, visiting the museums and eating. I'd never heard of this place but it's well worth a visit. Kafkaesque - not in a bad way but in the sense you are kind of in a maze. Reminded me a little of Portmeiron in Wales but turned up to 11.Read more
