Pai, Thailand

Decided to stay here for the day as needed a rest after a full day on the bike yesterday. Went to the Bamboo Bridge in the morning and Pai Canyon in the afternoon. Wow. What a shock. Pai Canyon was brilliant. So different from the big canyons I've seen before like the Grand Canyon and Charyn Canyon in Kazakhstan. Very narrow - you have to squeeze through between very high walls, and then you emerge onto ridges with sheer falls of what must have been 100m on both sides. Scary but hugely enjoyable.Read more
