• Saigon Walking Tour

    In the morning a walking tour of Saigon with Naomi, Harry and Lucy conducted by the very excellent Joseph. We started at the Saigon Skydeck and then were conducted round various places of note. The highlight was the original cafe apartments - apartment blocks where literally every apartment is converted into a shop of some kind, usually a coffee shop but maybe a restaurant, or nail bar or maybe a massage parlour. Also through markets, the seat of government and on finishing up at the post office, which for some reason is a tourist attraction.

    After that a quick visit to the secret underground weapons bunker. Which I guess tells you exactly what it was. Very interesting and certainly a hidden gem.

    In the evening a visit to a vegan restaurant just round the corner called the Dirty Vegan run by an expat Irish guy (although he seemed very British).

    PS I forgot to say the walking tour started with Joseph giving us a fortunately very small shot of his special concoction which was some kind of opium based whisky. Which is why even after a tiny shot which just covering the base of the shot glass, you see the results you do.
