Saigon Cu Chi Tunnels

Today a trip to the tunnels with Karl, where the guerrillas conducted their campaign against the Americans. Arrived there after a two hour bus journey from the city. Right in the middle of the jungle. The initiation was an invitation to attempt to get though the tunnel opening - see video - and then a tour of various other parts including the kinds of booby traps that were used and which it would have been horrific to be caught in - bamboo spikes are going to hurt. And apparently they were designed to injure not kill as an injured man takes out some of his brothers-in-arms as well as they are obligated to help him, whereas a dead man needs to help.

Finished with a crawl through some of the actual tunnels. They are not designed for six foot tall people!もっと詳しく
