    Sunday Drive

    Started in Lexington, KY from Saturday's drive, and headed to church in Knoxville, TN. On the way we grabbed breakfast at Buc'ees. Church was at Shepherd of the Hills. We then went to lunch meeting Jenna, one of Lori's friends before heading to where we are staying the rest of the week!Read more

    Downtown Asheville changed from our original plans, as a few places we're closed (unexpectedly) on Monday. So after a lunch of burgers we had dessert at a chocolatier followed by the rest of the afternoon spent at a "pinball museum" which ended up being hours of fun playing old pinball and video games!Read more

    Chimney Rock State Park

    After a quiet day at the resort playing Under Grove and Lorcana (games we brought) we explored Chimney Rock State Park, where some of the movie "Last of the Mohicans" was filmed.

    We were there on 9/11 and overhead a brief interview of a local volunteer firefighter. He was wearing his fireman gear, as he does every year on this date, to walk up the 400+ steps to the top of Chimney Rock enough times to mimic the height of the World Trade Center.Read more

    After spending more time at Chimney Rock than we thought we might, we headed down into the valley to visit the Lake Lure Flowering Bridge and the Fae Nectar Meadery, which had a fantasy theme.

    Asheville II: Games and Books

    We spent the day in Ashville again, most of the day spent at Well Played Board Game Cafe where we played Viticulture and Bees along with eating lunch there. Then a stop over to Battery Park Book Exchange and Champagne Bar where we had wine and appetizers amongst the bookshelves. Finished off the day back at Well Played for Lost Ruins of Arnak, which we both are intrigued by!Read more
