Instead of a pre-dawn 3.5 hour drive to MCI, we booked a hotel room near the airport the night before.

No rushing, no negotiating Kansas winter fog at 2:00 a.m.

We drove to MCI today and returned the rental SUV. Tonight we will have a homemade salad for dinner, sleep, and will wake up tomorrow morning already “here.”

Tomorrow morning’s travel turns into a short shuttle ride and a boarding pass—not a test of endurance - before our 5:43 am flight.
