Almost forgettable ride here today. Flat. Strong cold north westerlies with the threat of heavy showers that never quite materialised. Alongside a busy A road that was nose to tail lorries for the best part of 5k- turns out the autobahn was closed. Interesting to see how many plates were non- deutsch: this really is the crossroads of Europe. However a shorter day also meant I had time to look round Bremen: I checked in with Dirke and Helmut, my warm showers hosts, who were keen to show me around their city.
