Another beautifully sunny day.
Started the day with a supermarket shop for dried food for the upcoming Russia trip.
Breakfast was an extra large Choak’s pasty!

Sad farewell to mum and Pete this morning at Truro train station as we caught the 08.37 to Paddington.
Arrived on time after a carriage change due to a hideous, screaming child.

Russia here we come!!

Had a v relaxed am and then an easy journey to Gatwick.
Just boarding our Aeroflot flight to St Petersburg.
Uk has put on some amazing weather for us but looking forward to cooler temps and mindLeer más
Russia we have arrived!!!

Well Aeroflot/ Rossiya were faultless apart from landing a mere 15 mins late.
No migration card needed and despite nerves we got through immigration without any issues.

Spent 2 hours on the canals and river of St P with full views of a lot of the sights - The Hermitage, Peter and Paul’s Fortress etc

After jumping off the bus at St Issac Cathedral I had to drag K away from the pumpkin horse drawn carriages- she is such a romantic!!

Russian Museum

After a breakfast of porridge ( trying to keep energy up for a planned v long day) we set off for a 40 min walk to the train station.

So we arrived at 4.30pm as it’s late night opening tonight and we discovered the amazing “Peacock clock” gets wound to go off at 8pm just once a week on a Wednesday- bonus.

Saviour on the Spilled Blood - inside

Had a slightly later breakfast of cheese and tomato on toast before heading out of the door for the Saviour on the Spilled Blood church at 10am.

Well after our churchy am we jumped on the “green line” hop on/ off bus to make the most of our 2 day ticket ( which actually lasts 48 hours which is good) and went across to the other side of theLeer más
