    Travelling to St Ives .

    August 3, 2016 in England ⋅ ⛅ 16 °C

Tin miner fisherman and 15 gold coins on Cornish flags. Laughing at white van drivers who seem to be notoriously bad drivers . . . . Castle freight plane in forecourt. Cornwall is a very hilly area with lots of wide open spaces. Lots of wind farms. Cornwall has always been a county not a shire. Just passed a sign saying Bodmin . Unfortunately we are heading in a different direction. We actually skirt it. Jamaica Inn is on this moor.

St Ives is a town of little narrow streets with cobbled stones, aged by many feet. The beach was ringed by a break water and lined with shops selling food from fish and chips to pasties. Ice cream shops fudge and trinket places along with chemist and clothes. All seem to be run from little places about room size. Found it intriguing and just as you would imagine but crowds definitely not fun. Glad to have been, seen eaten pasties and clotted cream ice cream.
