Windy morning!

Well the storm hit at about 0600 this morning but we were tucked away behind the big hedge so were fine and just had to sit it out. So we finally had time to try and answer a question that had been bothering me for a few days-
Can you cook a pizza in a frying pan?
Answer - Yes you can and it's great!
Once we'd eaten the pizza and planned our next few days, the wind began to die down a little and so we ventured out in the van back to Dingle. The mission today was to buy a bottle of Dingle beer for Barrie of Ennerdale brewery (I owe him a favour or two). He'd last been to Dingle years ago, loved the place and thought a bottle of Dingle beer might transport him back there. So we set out to find a Brewery/pub in Dingle. We found one a few miles outside Dingle town and I told the barman about my good friend Barry, his brewery and his hankering after a bottle of Dingle beer. Unbeknown to Barrie we'd brought a bottle of Ennerdale Blonde with us to Ireland and I presented it to the barman. He was chuffed and presented us with a bottle of one of their beers to take back to Barrie.
Job done and I'm sure Barrie will be touched.
It was a great quirky pub with crazy stuff all over the place. We loved it and stayed for a pint.
We also tracked down a couple of other pubs Barrie had mentioned but couldn't name. One was as pub and a shoe shop (bar and taps on one side of the room and an old fashioned shoe shop on the other). The other was a pub come Hardware shop!
The atmosphere in both was amazing but we couldn't stop as they were both packed with people 😔.
Oh we also found out that Tom, the campsite owner, has relatives (grandmother , grandfather and mother) that lived on Blasket island and he was full of tales of island life. He gave us a much grimmer view of living on the island and passed on his recommendation for the best book to read to get a true idea of the day to day reality of island life, which we managed to pick up a copy of in Dingle 😊.Read more
