    Antarctica day 1

    January 7, 2024 in Antarctica ⋅ 🌫 -1 °C

After two days on the Drake Passage arrived in Antarctica.
Morning: Went mountaineering on Cuverville Island.
Afternoon: went on a zodiac (rubber motor boat) tour at Brown station / Paradise Bay.
Evening: camping overnight at Leith Cove, fell asleep to the sound of whales beneath us and woke up to the same! Slightly odd camping out somewhere that never gets dark.

TravelerWhat an incredible experience. And there are some priceless photos. Penguins are natural stars and the whales are so close.
