A little bit of overnight rain in Donnelly River kept the morning temps ok and what seemed a pretty easy ride turned out being a long climb and then corrugated road for the first 25kms. The track followed some old rail alignment and then an old stock route past Willow Springs that looks a really nice camping spot suitable for caravans. Thankfully, with a deadline to get to the pub to watch the footy the last 1kms or so was nearly all downhill on bitumen so we made it into Nannup by 12 so a quick trip to the bakery, check into pub ready for game to be told it was a delayed telecast and started at 2;30. Oh well I'm sure there's a nice comfortable spot near the bar to wait. As it turned out another Eagles loss but importantly Lloyd met a lot of people he knew from his family's days in Nannup and whilst the names didn't mean much to me - I'm pretty sure with the info collected i won't have to buy a beer for quite a while!! All good people and a very good afternoon at the pub. Also met Lyndon Crouch who runs "Out and About free range chooks- happy chooks living in caravans!! Pool score- GP 2- LC 0Read more
TravelerA great afternoon spent, possibly one or two beers too many, catching up with a few people that i haven't seen for poss 40 to 50 years (Marlows and Crouch, fyi Aud). Disturbing to know how many had passed on

Traveler Wow, small world!
Traveler I'm not sure how this happened, but the locals found out that Gaz worked for Main Roads.
Traveler I think Gaz is still thanking me for getting him out of a tight spot
Traveler 🤣
