Undara Lava Tubes

From Chilligoe, we planned our next few days of travel and activities. Pinnarendi Station was our first stop for the night, being close to Undara Lava Tubes and well-known for its stone-baked sourdough bread and pizzas. We had hoped to stay a couple of nights for Pizza, but unfortunately, they were booked out due to the school holidays in Qld. We did have a lovely breakfast, though, before heading to Undara.
The area we are travelling through has a long history of volcanic activity. We took the Wind-tunnel Tour, which involved walking through tunnels formed by a lava flow that has cooled slowly. These tunnels have really interesting colouring and texture and are home to the Bent-wing micro-bats, pythons, and huntsman spiders.Weiterlesen
