Next stop near Lake Myvatn is Hverir a geothermally active area of Iceland. Here we saw bubbling mud pools, fumaroles and evidence of the richness of sulfur in this area (both sight and smell). WeLeer más
Next stop is Mt Krafla that last erupted in 1984. Magma can be found just 2.1 km below the Earth's surface at this location. It's an ideal location for the power plant located close by.

Another windy night but calm this morning after the storm.
We stopped for coffee at the cafe that was used in the Walter Mitty movie as the Pappa Jons Pizza Bar. It had photos around the window showing how the cafe was transformed.
