Paddling down the river and Dad's feast

We ate croissants for breakfast before heading to the kayaks. We were driven a short way up the river where we set off. It started to rain while we headed down so we stopped halfway for a coffee and to warm up. The sun finally came out and we headed off, occasionally we paddled, looked at chateaus from the river and made our way to our town. Lunch was French goodies, followed by an afternoon by the pool. Dane and I had an epic hit of pool tennis, followed by Aperol Spritz.
Muriel cooked dinner for us tonight, gazpacho soup, followed by duck with roast potatoes and a slaw salad. There was a very impressive display of hot air balloons floating past which looked incredibly scenic. Dessert was cheese and an impressive raspberry cake with "60th" birthday candles. We had a bit of a dance before watching the world go by on the balcony.Read more
