T-Hailand

Wer mich kennt, weiß: ein Urlaub ist für mich nur ein halber Urlaub ohne Meer. Entsprechend fing heute, nach all den tollen Erlebnissen im Norden, das Inselhopping im Süden an. Yao Noi ist relativ wenig touristisch. Neben unserem Hotel sind zwei Bars, die bei Sonnenuntergang sehr gut besucht waren, auch danach noch gute Stimmung und zumindest eine Gruppe war noch etwas länger dort, aber gegen 10 bei der einen und 11 bei der anderen war Licht aus. Unsere Bungalows sind direkt am Meer, super süß. Das Meer selbst hat Badewannen Temperatur, ist direkt bei unserer Unterkunft aber sehr schlammig und sehr seicht rein zu gehen. Der Plan für morgen ist also, die kleine Insel mit dem Motorrad (eigentlich gibt's hier fast nur Motorräder, wenige taxi-shuttles, kaum Autos) zu erkunden und ein strand-hopping zu machen.

Beach hopping nach gemütlichem Ausschlafen gestartet. Mit dem Motorrad auf äußerst unwegsamem Gelände unterwegs, die meisten Waldwege in Österreich sind breiter, aber zumindest war wenig Verkehr 😅 Der Ausflug ganz in den Norden der Insel hat sich ausgezahlt - eine schöne Bucht und wilde Affen vor der Linse waren unsere Belohnungen. Zudem zwei Essen bei lokalen Restaurants, die super lecker waren und sehr preiswert waren, für 4 Personen mit Getränken so um die 10-15€ 🦊 Der Tag war generell alternierend von Essen und Strand geprägt ☺️

Same same but different, Insel hopping mit drei tollen Insel- und Schnorchel Spots. Koh Hong war wohl die bekannteste und entsprechend sehr voll mit Touristen. Der Strand super schön, das Meer nur etwas weniger trüb als am Hotelstrand. Zudem leider ziemlich vermüllt 😢🙄 im Insel-Ranking schaffts diese Insel heut nur auf den letzten Platz. Zweiter Stopp Koh Ka. Am Strand selbst ganz wenige Touris, der ist aber an sich eher karg mit einem groben Kiesstrand ist. Unter Wasser beim schnorcheln aber richtig schön und die Korallen noch sehr gut erhalten und lebendig. Top schnorchel-spot. Dritter Stopp Koh Lao Lading hat "Filmkulissen-potential", schöner Sandstrand, Palmen, Varane, sehr schöne Unterwasserwelt. Schwer zu sagen, welche der beiden Inseln schöner war, da wir aber auf der letzten auch unser Essen bekommen haben, bleibt die wohl länger in Erinnerung 😏🤤 auf der Heimfahrt haben wir dann noch im langsamen Vorbeifahren auf Koh Ka Mia einige Äffchen am Strand gesehen, super süß 🐒

Anyone who knows me knows: for me, a vacation is only half a vacation without the sea. So today, after all the great experiences in the north, I started island hopping in the south. Yao Noi is relatively uncrowded. There are two bars next to our hotel, which were very busy at sunset, the atmosphere was still good afterwards and at least one group stayed there a little longer, but it was lights out around 10 at one and 11 at the other. Our bungalows are right by the sea, super cute. The sea itself is bathtub temperature, but it's very muddy and very shallow right next to our accommodation. So the plan for tomorrow is to explore the small island by motorcycle (actually there are almost only motorcycles here, few cab shuttles, hardly any cars) and go beach-hopping.

Beach hopping started after a good night's sleep. On the road with the motorcycle on extremely rough terrain, most forest paths in austria are wider but at least with little traffic 😅 but the trip to the very north of the island paid off - a beautiful bay and wild monkeys in front of the camera were our rewards. We also had two meals at local restaurants, which were delicious and very reasonably priced, around €10-15 for 4 people with drinks 🦊 The day was generally characterized by alternating between food and the beach ☺️

Same same but different, island hopping with three great island and snorkeling spots. Koh Hong was probably the best known and therefore very crowded with tourists. The beach was super beautiful, the sea just a little less murky than at the hotel beach. Unfortunately, it was also quite littered 😢🙄 In the island ranking, this island only made it to last place today. Second stop Koh Ka. Very few tourists on the beach itself, but it is rather barren with a coarse pebble beach. But the underwater snorkeling is really beautiful and the corals are still very well preserved and alive. Top snorkeling spot. Third stop Koh Lao Lading has "movie set potential", beautiful sandy beach, palm trees, varans, very beautiful underwater world. It's hard to say which of the last two islands was more beautiful, but as we also had our meal on the last one, it will probably be remembered for longer 😏🤤 On the way home, we saw some monkeys on the beach on Koh Ka Mia as we drove slowly past, super cute 🐒Read more
