    Notten’s Bush Camp

    May 3 in South Africa ⋅ ⛅ 26 °C

Our transfer arrived to take us to Nottem’s about 1.5 hours drive away but as the van had a slow puncture we had to get a new tyre before we could start the journey. It was about 30 minutes before we switched to a bumpy dirt road for the next hour. On arrival at Notten’s we were greeted by Staff with a chilled glass of lemon water, briefly shown around and taken to our room. Our room is the size of a small house with two double beds mosquito nets and a single, two bathrooms and a full length terrace with comfy chairs overlooking the bush. Lunch was at 2pm curry with rice and a plate of cold meats and a salad bowl.
3.45- 7pm-Evening game drive. We embarked on an open topped jeep with 3 other passengers. Our guides are Joseph and Thulani. The time was spent driving along windy dirt tracks looking for interesting wildlife, even driving completely off road at times. The drive finished with a sundowner barbecue and drinks and a chance to mingled with staff and guests. Returning to Notten’s our bedroom had been prepared for us including running a bath! We started with drinks in the bar then dinner that was served outside and included steak cooked on the braai. There was a chance to sit around the camp fire and chat to other hotel guests. Then time for bed as we’ve the next drive is early tomorrow morning
