Day 6 - Cizur Mayor to Puente La Reina

Via Alto del Perdon (Mount of Forgiveness)

We set off at 8am through fields of grass splattered with red poppies - onwards and upwards towards Alto del Perdon. It felt like quite a lot of pilgrims out this morning - on foot & bike.

The wind turbines were in view for the most part today. It's not until you're right next to them that you can feel the energy & power that they both use and produce... just magnificent!

We reached the top and jumped in for pics ... it was extremely windy up there today, and unfortunately, a bit overcast, so the pics don't come out as well - but alas, the sky was moody and full of energy! 🙌

We then decided to visit Santa Maria de Eustane ... a 12th-century chapel believed to have belonged to the Knights Templar! This was an hour detour off the track, but we figured it was worth it. So off we trotted... only to get there and find they were locking up for an hour!! Oh well! we decided to just sit outside of it instead, basking in the sunlight, soft grass, and this stunning piece of history.

The last part of our walk today was through the cutest village of Obanos. It was like a ghost town, though, since the locals were having a siesta!

Tonight, we are in Albergue Jakue, and I'm so, so excited as it's my 1st night in a private room with my very own bathroom!! 🙌... bliss! It's very simple, but it's just what I need tonight! 💚Read more
