Rouen Day 3

Today is the day to explore Rouen. There is so much history here, and there are many historical buildings. Definitely the biggest city I've seen that has so many half timbered buildings, as well as a plethora of gigantic medieval church/cathedrals. Built up by the Vikings 1100 years ago, this area has seen plenty of tumult. From the Viking invasion and assimilation into who would become Normans, to the Hundred Year War ending essentially with Jean d'Arc being burned at the stake here, Richard the Lionhearted to William the Conquerer, this city has much to see.Читать далее
