    After a brutal 6-hour delay and a 2am departure, we finally made it to Rome! Pizza diavolo, oxtail pasta, beautiful singing, and a nighttime stroll past the Pantheon and Trevi Fountain made it all worth it.Read more

    Vatican, Shopping & Spanish Steps 🇮🇹

    Day 2 in Rome was packed! 🇮🇹❤️

    We started our morning with a Vatican tour and were blown away by the Sistine Chapel, St. Peter’s Basilica, and the incredible beauty of St. Peter’s Square. It’s hard to put into words just how amazing it all was.

    Keeping with our tradition of picking up a Christmas ornament from every country we visit, we found a beautiful one in Vatican City. Emma chose a dove decoration inspired by the doves displayed on the tombs of the popes — a special little keepsake to remember our time here. 🎄🕊️

    We then stopped at a jewelry store Emma discovered on TikTok, where I continued our tradition of getting her a travel gift. She picked out a beautiful bracelet with a little cornicello charm. ❤️

    After a delicious lunch of eggplant and meat pasta, we walked off all the food by wandering through Rome and making our way up the Spanish Steps.

    And of course, we had to reward ourselves at the top with an iced latte topped with whipped coffee and melted chocolate. ☕️🍫

    So much packed into one morning and afternoon — and somehow, we still have an entire evening ahead of us! 🇮🇹✨    Read more

    Carbonara & Tiramisu Nights 🇮🇹

    October 2 in Italy ☁️ 24 °C

    After picking up the Italian graphic tees we’d been eyeing, we strolled through Piazza Navona to dinner at Romoletto. We shared appetizers and carbonara, with Emma enjoying white wine and me trying Chinotto—a bittersweet Italian soft drink—for the first time. We ended with tiramisu and a romantic walk back to the hotel, very tired but very happy!Read more

    From Rome to Chianti ❤️

    A busy travel day took us from Rome to Florence by high-speed train, then we drove into the Tuscan countryside to Salvadonica Borgo del Chianti. We got the sweetest honeymoon welcome with flower petals on our bed, relaxed by the pool with gorgeous views, and finished the day with a romantic steak dinner.Read more

    Cooking With Our Italian Nona 🇮🇹

    After a lovely breakfast, we had a private cooking class with our adopted Italian Nona, Ivana! She taught us tiramisu, cacciatore chicken, and tagliatelle with zucchini. Rudy the infamous property dog made a perfectly timed appearance for lunch, and we even left with certificates!Read more

    We explored downtown Florence, checked out some incredible landmarks, did a little shopping, and found the famous Fotoautomatica vintage photobooth.     Travel day from Florence to Sicily! We landed in Palermo and were immediately blown away by the mountains before driving 1.5 hours to Cefalù, our home for the next three days at Hotel Kalura.

    We got up early and drove into town to hike up Rocca di Cefalù! The views over the beautiful coastline and historic town were worth the climb. Of course, we couldn’t leave without indulging in some more delicious Sicilian cannoli! 🥾🌊🍋
