Wolfgang goes to Scotland

Yesterday (5th September). Dry and bright morning and we enjoyed a circular walk from the campsite along the beach to Carradale village and harbour. A walk of approximately 4 miles. We had a lazy lunch of mussels, cooked with white wine and cream back at the campsite. The sun shone all afternoon which was a real bonus. Dinner consisted of BBQ scallops wrapped in bacon, followed by salmon fishcakes and hollandaise sauce. All of which we had bought the previous afternoon from the van which came around the campsite.

Today (6th September), after a blustery and showery night, we struck camp early and left for out 90 mile drive to Oban, around the Kintyre Peninsula. Spectacular coastal scenery following lochs all the way to Oban. We had mixed weather along the way - glorious sunshine and then torrential showers. We arrived at our campsite, 8 miles north of Oban at around 1pm. We had our sandwiches for lunch and then set up camp on a great pitch with fabulous views. We enjoyed an afternoon and evening in warm sunshine with ever-changing views over the sea to Mull.Læs mere
