Inca Trail ~ Day 4 Machu Picchu

Today we finally arrived at Machu Picchu, we woke up at 3am to start our hike in order to pass through the sun gates just as the first rays of sun hit Machu Picchu. We took a few pictures (probably more than a few), and then descended into the final part of the Inca trail into Machu Picchu. It was absolutely stunning, and taking the 4 day Inca trail made Machu Picchu all the better. I have a much better appreciation for the construction of the temple as well and the trek the royal Incas made from Cusco to the Machu Picchu. Once we arrived at Machu Picchu we took a tour and then made our way down to Aguascalientes, a small town below the temple to have lunch and say goodbye to our guide. After we said goodbye, aud and I proceeded to go to local hot springs while we waited for our train to take us back to Cusco. While you might think we would have been exhausted from hiking for 4 days and waking up at 3AM, we managed to drag ourselves from our hostel, meet up with one of the tour guides we met along the trail, and go salsa dancing with him and his friend.Baca lagi
