Santiago de Chile - day 1

After long sleep, washing all our clothes, cooking lunch we decided to go for a walk to the center which is right around the corner. The main square Plaza de Armas is only 10 minutes walk from our Airbnb. The cathedral was unfortunately closed so we will try to visit it next days. Most of the shops and restaurants were closed so we are curious how the city will look like other days of the week. We also visited nearby hill Cerro Santa Lucía where one can see from the top the nice view of the city. It’s a really nice park but you can see that they are not taking care of it that much which is really sad. We also saw many homeless and poor people on the streets (taxi driver told us that they are mainly from Venezuela or Peru). In general we prefer more South American nature and small town then big cities (except of maybe Buenos Aires and Rio 😁). Right next to our apartment it’s a really cool food truck courtyard where you can eat really good and cheap different types of cuisine so we definitely know where we gonna get dinner next days 😁😁😉Leggi altro
