Holbox day 3

After breakfast we went to the center to exchange money and get a coffee. For the rest of the day we wanted to chill on the beach and relax. We found nice beach club and lied down. For consumption of 600 MXP almost 30€ per person you could stay whole day. It was a cloudy day but I hoped that as always the sun will show up and we have a great day. Unfortunately around 13 o’clock the heavy tropical storm started and it was pouring rain for next 3-4 hours. The rain was very strong and we were standing with all the other guests under the only roof this beach club had to offer 🙈.

After an hour we were offered table and could at least eat and drink something. Around 4 we decided not to wait anymore and walk in the rain back to our bungalow. The rain was so strong that whole streets got completely flooded and even the entrance to our bungalow was blocked.

To eat dinner in the evening was adventure itself. It was not raining anymore but many streets are blocked completely and we had to cross “river” many times 🤣🙈.

Usually rain season is in July and August but in general Holbox is a place where cold wind from north Mexico meets the hot Caribbean air resulting in strong tropical storms 😂🥲.Leia mais
