All Blacks v Italy Lyon

Goldie and I stooged up the track to Lyon from our Vaison base taking about 2.5 hrs and found our transit hotel which is just 16 Km from the Olympique Park - using the experience of Nice parking debacles we went over to the ground to establish if there was any parking you a couple old punters from NZ. Low an behold straight into a very large area - biffed them €30 parked inside the ground about 50 mts from our entrance ! About 5 hours early so we went for a wander about and blow me down for the second time in an hour - a huge hospitality area with bars and restaurants everywhere and a quite a few kiwi supporters of all sorts of nationalities having a frosty and a bite - utopia ! Met a great couple from Tauranga who raced stock cars against Pete and knew Sam and Rob from mini stock days very well. Graham and Michelle Peter. Had a very happy few hours as the crowd and antics by them grew around. After a bit of confusion eventually found Bruce and Prue who had our reprinted test tickets had another couple and into the stadium. Great tickets once again great game and a painless extraction back to the hotel for a big sleep. All in all a pretty straightforward operation.Read more
