Temples Day 4

For the last day of temples we went off the beaten track. There are a group of temples which are slightly older than the main Ankor temples, further out from the Siem Reap and in disrepear, as such they are very quiet, we had the massive Bang Mealea temple all to our selves. Having being partially destroyed in one of Cambodias many civil wars, they have built a walkway over the top of the temple so you can look down over the complex and get a real sense of the flow and design and the symmetry that is used.
Chaw Srei Vibol and Banteay Samre temples were also similar, reclaimed by nature once they had collapsed. A very different experience from the pristine and well kept temples of the main Ankor complex, definitely worth the driveRead more
