• Day 26: Leaving Bali for KL by Simi

    August 8 in Indonesia ⋅ ☀️ 28 °C

So with sadness we packed up for one more night. We left our hotel for Denpasar airport to fly to KL.

We performed our obligatory Matty trying sunglasses routine . We also admired a very unique piece of religious surfing art . It was called "Ogoh Ogoh" and was inspired by Andy Irons, a three time World Surfing Champion. Inspired by Andy's style is a modern version Hanuman, Monkey God of Bali. Two icons brought together. Hanuman for his protective spirit and Andy Irons who had a deep connection with Bali and was celebrated on the island not only for his surfing prowess, but for his respect of Bali's unique culture.

The flight was a lengthy 3 hours and the airport was crazily busy too . We hailed a grab to our hotel in central KL but it was still 6pm by the time we checked in.

For our last few hours of the holiday, Millen was very keen to go thrift shopping .. so that’s what we did ! After quite a bit of research on the return journey ; settled on a warehouse store about 30 mins out of town .

It was MASSIVE and totally over whelming but Millen just loved it . Eashan and Matt did pretty well before sloping off to get a drink and some food. We were there for about 2 hours and came away with some purchases which the boys were delighted with.

We took a grab to our hotel
and settled into bed quickly as we needed to leave for the airport by 6am. Sad times ! But wow what a holiday x
