Touring Beside the Clearwater

We enjoyed a whole day of nearly flat riding along the Clearwater river. We had to ‘portage’ over the guardrail at one point early in the day when the bike path became too bumpy, but there was no path connecting to the smooth highway.
For one snack break we sat under a tree at a former dairy farm. Dave and his wife treated us to strawberries from their garden and ice water from their well. Good living in their generous hospitality!! A highlight of this trip.
Riding along the river is super peaceful. In some places, no guardrails were present to obstruct the view of the river about 100 feet away. The water flows pretty fast for a wide river, sometimes tumbling over small rapids.
At the end of a long day of about 65 miles, we camped along the river in time to enjoy a cup of tea while watching the sun set.Читать далее
