• Reykjavík’s City Hall (Ráðhús)

    Southwards, behind the Dómkirkja, was the Reykjavík’s waterside City Hall (Ráðhús), which looked like floating palace on the Tjörnin Lake’s north bank. It was a beautifully positioned postmodern construction of concrete stilts, tinted windows and mossy walls rising from Tjörnin. Inside was one of the city's top cafe-restaurants, Við Tjörnina, and an interesting 3D map of Iceland. There was a small tourism office there, where Ron gathered pamphlets.
