Rainbow mountain

📍Rainbow Mountain, Peru

Certified mountain goats... at 5036 metres above sea level, this 'easy' walk was pretty hard. We heard a description that being at that level of altitude is like breathing through a straw, and honestly, that's what it feels like! But what beautiful views! We tacked on another trek at the end to the red valley, which was peaceful and remote, and only opened a month ago as normally it's too icy. A great wee add-on.

Think we also reached peak tourist status on our day out, as we paid for a pic with our new llama pals, and then when we bumped into *another* local festival, we got asked to dance with the locals and have pictures taken. I can only assume it's because we look like the biggest gringos going. Saying that, it was such a lovely moment, and we're yet to meet a local who hasnt been friendly to us on our trip.
