    Eighty Mile Beach to Karijini

    June 4, 2018 in Australia ⋅ ⛅ 17 °C

Left Eighty Mile Beach early this morning for a loooooong drive, just over 650 kms, to Karijini National Park.
Stopped over in Port Hedland for a refuel, restock, coffee and morning tea and then continued on. After we left Port Hedland we drove into iron ore mining country and came across the ore carrying road trains.
These 4 trailer monsters were carrying ore back to Port Hedland and in the afternoon drive we passed over 104 road trains. That’s right we did count them as there wasn’t a lot else to do!
Arrived into the Dales Campground at Karijini about 3.30pm in time to set up in the dry, dusty camp ground. Didn’t take long to set up as there was no power or water to connect to.
