• Chef's Table

    January 26, North Pacific Ocean ⋅ ☁️ 64 °F

I booked the Chef's Table back in January since I've always wanted to do it. I wasn't sure what to expect. They called me twice to make sure I didn't have any food allergies and to tell me where to meet.

We met by guest services, and the women who checked in right before me in Long Beach were there. Three sisters from Chicago, very good company. There was also another young couple, making it six of us. They led us through the dining room to the kitchen, where there was a nice table set up. I had my back to the action but could still see all the activity.

They started us with prosecco and a little tuna bite. All the food was small portions, but there were about 10 courses. The woman next to me was only 20, so she couldn't drink. Her partner was having some wine. All of a sudden, the partner fainted! It was scary. They brought a wheelchair to take her out. We guessed it was some sort of drug interaction. Crazy.

Between courses, they took us back to see how they make the chocolate lava cake. Very easy, actually! We didn't have that, but there was a little dessert with port at the end. My favorite was the waygu beef. In the end, I was stuffed.
