9/11

We are staying at Liberty Harbor RV & Marina in Jersey City directly across from Manhattan. While nothing much more than a parking lot with utilities, it offered an incredible view of the 9/11 “Tribute In Lights”

We also drove to the Jersey Coast and visited Mt Mitchell, the highest natural elevation on the Atlantic seaboard, where you can see all the way to Long Island and where residents gathered in 2001 to view the events of 9/11 unfold. There is a timeline walk & beautiful carved eagle memorial there.

We also viewed the “Empty Sky Memorial” in the nearby Liberty State Park that is also 1/2 mile from Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. It houses the remains of the New Jersey Railroad that the majority of immigrants processed through Ellis Island used to start their journeys to their new homes across the country.Weiterlesen
