Hierapolis travertines

Its really hard not to think it has just snowed under the palm trees. We are looking up at Hierapolis from the village of Pamukkale about to visit the dual Unesco site ( the travertines and the ruined city). The enthralling white hillside is formed of calcium carbonate deposits from the thermal springs above. We walk up barefoot through this wonderful place enjoying the non slippery texture under our feet and the warm waters that are tumbling down.Read more
