As we walked out of Sahagun this morning the local rooster bid us farewell a good start to the day and one which promised to be hot. Short in terms of kilometers but as the temperatures are climbing our plan is to be at our next destination by early afternoon.
Narrow paths turned into wide earth tracks. Across remote bush country with few pilgrims in sight (we chose to take the alternate route) which was quiet and had no villages to pass through.
We walked in silence taking in the views ahead of agricultural land and simple dwellings some of
which were made of mud others of stone.
Our village tonight has been well preserved and is so quiet it’s hard to believe anyone lives here. As we were walking through the village a local drove his tractor and parked outside his home possibly to take a siesta returning to his fields late afternoon he smiled and bid us Buen Camino. We are taking cover in the shade of the bar and reflecting on another grand day.Read more
