Old Dubbo Gaol

Afternoon visit to Old Dubbo Gaol.

This old gaol offers an extraordinary piece of history without taking up your entire day. As you walk in, you will be surprised by the small, old buildings that housed the cells.

Each area of interest has a summary near its entrance, making it easy to understand the history and hardships of the inmates and prison officers. The displays had so much information; they were extremely interesting.

The highlight of my visit was going up to the watchtower and walking along the path where the guards walked.

We thoroughly enjoyed our time viewing this historic site. It was very informative about the prisoners and their experiences.Læs mere
