Pink Lake Lookout

The Pink Lake in Port Gregory, Western Australia, is a stunning natural wonder. The lake's water turns a bright pink colour which is created by the presence of carotenoid-producing algae, Dunaliella salina. This algae is a source of beta-carotene, a food colouring agent, and a source of Vitamin A.

The lake's colour changes throughout the day from bubblegum pink to lilac purple, depending on the time of day and the amount of cloud cover when you visit.
